Team analysis: Following a 16-11 season, there is much reason to be excited if you are a loyal supporter of the Lincoln High School Basketball team.
One of the reasons many people are big on this team is their amazing play in summer leagues. The Lions shocked the world when they became the first public school ever to win the Hamilton Park Summer League.
Another reason to be excited about this team is the solid amount of returning players with key roles last year. One person to keep on your radar is Dante Darby. The talented junior shows up when it matters most. Darby played a pivotal role in Lincoln’s championship game this summer, tallying 36 points in the victory against Hudson Catholic.
Another player to watch out for is guard D.J. Henderson. The sensational senior often guards the best player on the other team. His workmanlike approach to the game sets the tone for how they play on both sides of the floor. "D.J. is so passionate and his No. 1 concern is winning, which sometimes can get mistaken as a little too fiery, little too tough on guys," Lincoln coach Bill Zasowski said. "We have tough kids that can take that. We have no problem getting on each other because there's no ego in doing it."
Look for Lincoln to compete with West Side and Camden for the Group 2 title this year.
