Former Roselle Catholic guard Jadin Collins announced he would transfer to Somerset’s Rutgers Prep for the upcoming season, and so far, it seems like the move is paying off for the 2023 graduate.
“The transition to Rutgers Prep has been great. It’s different, but it’s great,” Collins said. “It’s an amazing feeling to be an Argonaut right now. As soon as I came in, the team took me in as another brother. The chemistry was great immediately. This is not just a basketball team, it’s a family.”
After breaking the news he was joining the Argonauts for his junior season, Collins had a breakout summer in the live period.

The 6’0” prospect said Marist, Drexel, Fairfield, Rider, Siena, Radford and Temple are the schools recruiting him the hardest, but there were more college coaches on the sideline at the RPS open gyms.
Although Rutgers Prep lost key pieces Trey Patterson (Villanova) and Noah Harris (Marist) in the past two years, the Argonauts still have the pieces for a great team, especially in the backcourt. Collins will suit up alongside Ryan Pettit, Cam Piggee and Jordy Atkins in the backcourt, along with Donovan Long and Ranney transfer Ryan Zan in the frontcourt.
“Coach Bloom is a very hands-on coach,” Collins said. “He is always making sure the team is all good, and he makes it a family atmosphere which makes the team chemistry show. The season is going to be great.”
