#Power10: Leilani Correa

November 9, 2017

By Christian Mordi

Name: Leilani Correa

Team: Rutgers Prep

Year: Junior

Stats: 13 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and block per game:

Accolades: 1st team All-Non Public

Projection:   2nd Team All-State Selection

Why they’re on the list:   Leilani Correa was a pleasant surprise for Rutgers Prep in 2017.

Correa stepped up after Rutgers Prep lost point guard Jahsyni Knight due to injury during the middle of the season. The Argonaut scored 20-plus in eight games after Knight went down. When it was all said and done, Correa averaged 13.2 points and 4.8 rebounds on the season.

While Rutgers Prep has lost sensational senior Gabi Redden to graduation, the team still has enough in the cupboard to make some noise this year. Be on the lookout for gaudy box scores from Correa this year in an effort to fill the scoring gap left by Redden. If RP makes a deep run, Correa should be in line for 1st team All State honors.

Stat to know:   She averaged 13.2 points and 4.8 rebounds on the season.
