Key players: Jahsyni Knight, senior
Leilani Correa, junior
Potential emerging stars: Jasmine Lyles, sophomore
Team analysis: Rutgers Prep had an amazing year. Despite major injuries early in the year, The Argonauts made a deep tournament run, losing in the semi-final of the Tournament of Champions to the eventual state champs, Franklin.
While the The Prep lost two of their top scorers last year, they still return enough to make some noise in 2018. One of reasons many are excited about Rutgers is junior guard Leilani Correa. During her sophomore campaign, Correa filled up the box score every night averaging 13 points, 5 rebs and 3 steals per game. Correa is a jack of all trades player on offense. She can shoot it and create off the dribble for herself and others. The Argonauts also return senior guard Jahsyni Knight. The saavy floor general does a great job of creating an ideal game tempo for this team every game.
Rutgers Prep is well coached and loaded with talent. If The Argonauts defend at a high level in March, they have a legitimate chance of winning a state title.
Stat to know: Senior Jahsyni Knight is on pace to score her 1,000th point this year. The talented guard will continue her college career at Pitt.
