For many, music is a push factor against the demons of anxiety and nervousness before a competition. For others, a pre-game playlist is a "Secret sauce" used to stir up and release whatever is channeled within them in an effort to lead their team to victory.
Today we begin a new series titled "Gameday Playlist Vibes," which feature must-play pre-game songs from rising basketball stars in New Jersey. Next up is Gil St. Bernards point guard Alex Schachne. The floor general has put together a stellar high school career thus far. He recently announced he will be continuing his high school career at John Hopkins. Enjoy the jams from the senior guard below.

Why I chose these songs: I have a nice mix of songs throughout my playlist. I start with less intense songs and build them up to more intense tracks to get myself more hyped.
J Cole - No Role Modelz
Thoughts: Cole 2014 album is one of my favorites. It came out my freshmen year during the basketball season. Like J Cole and the album, it reminds me of that feeling of having something to prove.
Drake - Headlines
Eminem - Till I Collapse
DMX - X Gonna Give It To Ya
Thoughts: I love listening to that song before the game. It gets me in a pitbull or Mamba mentality. I listen to that song and I'm no longer worried about who are are playing against. I found this song when I was like 10 years old watching mixtapes of Kobe and it has stuck with me ever since.
