By Christian Mordi / @thedribbledrop

Name:  Jahvon Quinerly

Team:  Hudson Catholic

Year:   Senior

Stats:  20 points 5 assists and 3 rebounds per game in 2017

Accolades:   First Team All-State in 2017. 2017 NJ Player of the year.

Projection:  First Team All-State

Why they’re on the list:  “If you haven't got it, you can't show it. If you have got it, you can't hide it.”

On and off the court, Jahvon Quinerly has the “it” factor. Off the floor, it clear he has swag oozing out of his pores at a rapid pace. Fans follow him on social media to see what’s the latest trends in the basketball culture. You can’t blame them, as JQ is one of the founding fathers of the “Jelly Fam” movement.

On the floor JQ is a walking highlight reel. Sometimes when he’s dribbling the ball up the floor, it seems as if he’s floating. Quinerly has a calm about him that often reminds people of fellow NJ all-time great Jayson Williams (for those who don’t know where the Duke alum played his high school ball, I suggest you do your googles.) If needed, Quinerly can dominate a game without putting the ball in the basket. JQ keeps Hudson Catholic’s offense clicking at a high rate. He gets paint touches with ease and makes game changing plays at an alarming rate.

In regards to scoring, JQ is a walking bucket. In 2017, the crafty guard averaged 20 points per game. Quinerly has a silky smooth jumper, but what puts the butts in the seats is his Kyrie Irving-like finishing ability. JQ LOVES JELLY. He will relinquish a great finish in traffic or in the open floor. Make no mistake about it, in 2017, it’s all about the jelly and JQ lets you know that everytime he touches the floor.

With a strong supporting cast and an elite set of skills, JQ is not set for a massive year.

In Jelly we trust.

Stat to know:  If JQ averages 20 points per game this year and Hudson Cath goes all of the way, Quinerly will break 2,000 points for his career.
