#Power20: Luther Muhammad

November 16, 2017

By Christian Mordi / @thedribbledrop on Instagram

Name:  Luther Muhammad

Team:  Hudson Catholic

Year:  Senior

Stats: 16 points, 3 assists and 2 steals per game in 2017

Accolades:  ESPN Top 100 player in the 2018 class. Signed to Ohio State University

Projection:  All-State Selection

Why they’re on the list:  Luther Muhammad is the type of person you want in your fox hole when you’re going to war. His love for the game and competitive spirit is on display every game. When the going gets tough, he wants the ball and can deliver a devastating blow to his opponents.

Over the years, we have witnessed Muhammed mature in regards to his approach to the game offensively. The crafty guard is much more cerebral, picking his spots wisely each time down the floor. He can get hot quick from the perimeter, but he doesn’t settle for his shot. When he sees a lane,  he attacks the rim with reckless abandon.

While there is much to gush about in regards to offensive repertoire, Muhammad separates the gap from his peers with his willingness to defend. Lou Banga is always ready to take on the best offensive player on the other team. The fiery guard has great on ball defense and is a terror in the passing lanes. In 2017, Muhammed raised his average to two thefts per night.

Many coaches have also taken notice as well, as Luther has a bevy of division one offers. He recently announced that he will be attending Ohio State University. Until that time comes, the talented combo guard locked in on one thing only: bringing Hudson Catholic a T.O.C. crown.

Get ready everyone.

Stat to know:  Luther was a 2nd team all-state selection as a sophomore in 2016.
