Player: Leondre Washington
Team: Teaneck
Stats: 8.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 2015/16.
What to expect: Weeks into his senior year, Leondre shocked the NJ basketball community by transferring back to Teaneck High School after one season with Roselle Catholic. After solid showings at the Nike EYBL league, Rucker Park High School league and Dykcman Park in prior months, the Jellyfam co-founder is back home and better than ever.
Leondre possesses an elite combo guard skillset. His deceptive ball handling ability and knock down jump shot make him a matchup nightmare. Dare to sag off, he’ll make you pay from deep; play him too close and he’ll blow right by you. While Leondre played a facilitative role in 2015-16, we expect Leondre to return to true Teaneck form this season as a primary producer alongside fellow 1,000 point scorer Ja’Quaye James and defending Big North player of the year, Jawaun Daniels.
Coming into his senior season, Leondre currently holds offers from Towson, Howard, Fairleigh Dickinson and San Francisco with interest from Rutgers and Temple.
Stat to know: Leondre scored 1,026 points in his first two seasons at Teaneck.
